Gratitude Beyond Words......

I feel so completely blessed and overwhelmed with joy as I have such great news to report! I went to my 28 week doctors appointment today for my ultrasound to see if my placenta had moved....and it has COMPLETELY moved itself out of the way!!

What this means is that I am totally off bedrest and can now resume with my normal life again. I can't even express in words how thankful I am for this outcome. Our little boy looks wonderful and I am measuring right on target. He said that things couldn't look better.

So, now I get to bring my little girl back home with me and enjoy every second with her. We are planning on spending lots of quality time together now before our new family member arrives and flips her world upside down!

THANK YOU so much to all of you that kept us in your prayers, helped with meals, your kind calls and e-mails, etc. I never could have made it through these last 2 months in bed without the help of so many wonderful family and friends. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life to gather around us in times of trials. I love you all!

Some of you have been asking to see my big belly, so here is a shot that was just taken a couple days ago. 28 weeks pregnant (almost 7 months) and getting bigger than ever!

Gestational Diabetes

Well, I had another close call, but ended up being very blessed. I did my glucose test last week while at my doctor's appointment and got a call the next day from the nurse saying that my levels came in high. They suspected that I may have gestational diabetes and needed me to come in and do the 3 hour glucose test ASAP.
So, Monday morning I went in to the lab. After having to fast for 12 hours before (that alone about killed me). They had to draw blood as soon as I got there. Then, I had to drink twice as much of the glucose as I had three days before within 5 minutes on an empty stomach. (YUCK)
After that, I had to sit in the waiting room for 3 hours and have them draw my blood once an hour during those 3 hours.
Needless to say, I was awaiting those results very anxiously. Wednesday night the nurse called and said that my results all came in normal and I DID NOT have gestational diabetes!!! What a relief! I am so thankful that I did not have to deal with another problem during this pregnancy.
Well, more info to come about the placenta previa on the 24th.... Let's hope my luck continues!

Not much of one...but an update

I went to the doctor this morning and they didn't do the ultrasound (that is scheduled for the 24th of Feb), but he checked everything else and he said it all looks great and right on schedule. The baby's heartbeat sounded strong, I measured just right and I gained a whopping 7 pounds this month! That was depressing for me, but the doctor said that was perfect. So, I have to keep that in mind...all I see is fat! =-(
I had been having a lot of cramps & lower pain followed by my stomach getting very hard and was worried that maybe it was trying to go into labor. He said that is totally normal as well and said not to worry unless it's happening 6+ times an hour for two hours. It hasn't been nearly that often, so that was a relief. Thank goodness I haven't had any bleeding and that is the biggest threat with this placenta previa. So, the 24th is when they can tell if the placenta has moved or if it's still covering the cervix. He still wants me down and taking it very easy until we know the results of the ultrasound. But, all is well for now. Stay tuned for an update on the ultrasound.

Another bump in the road

Well, just when I think I am feeling better and things are good....another baby trial comes. I went in for my ultrasound last Tuesday and found out that I have placenta previa. That is when your placenta has grown over your cervex.

My placenta is lying so low that the doctor said if I were to lift something too heavy or turn wrong, I could tear it and start bleeding and have to deliver right then by c-section, no matter how far along I was. That is the big concern right now.

So, I am now on bedrest and have to stay down as much as possible. For someone that never sits down, this is killing me. I go back in at 28 weeks (on Feb 24) to see if it has moved or not. If not, I am on bedrest until I deliver and have to have a c-section. If so, then it's back to normal.
I am so nervous because the doctor said at 24 weeks they can usually sustain the baby's life, but they try to get you to 32 weeks in order to eliminate most long-term complications. I am at 22 1/2 weeks right now so it's a very crucial time for our little guy.
We decided with this being so crucial to this baby's life that we would go to the extreme and take every precaution possible since it's been 2 years for us to finally get to this point of having another baby. What a rocky road we have been on........
So, Mallory just started going to daycare at Tim's school everyday and it killed me. I cried for 2 hours the first day she went. I just feel so bad she is having to go through so many changes too. She LOVES it though and tells Tim to "go back to your class" every time he comes to check on her. That makes me feel much better about it since she loves being there.
I tried to stay down and take care of her for a week and that was too hard, so we decided that would be best just for this temporary time period.
I am getting pretty bored laying in bed all day, so feel free to call or come see me if you are in the area!! =-)

BOY oh BOY!!

Well, here goes my first blog in 2 1/2 months and I will now explain why it has been so long.......I have been SO sick and throwing up 3-5 times a day for the past 2 1/2 months. Why? Well, because I am now 17 weeks pregnant and just found out today that we are having a baby BOY!!!

It has been a long & emotional road, but after a year of miracle after miracle, we were finally able to get pregnant again after losing our last one.

Mallory was inspired from before we knew I was pregnant that I was having a baby boy. They are so close to heaven that it gives me chills. We have had several experiences with her that were amazing and she knew it was a brother. He is due May 17, 2009!!

We are so excited and can hardly wait to have another baby join our family. I will do better on keeping up with my blog now that I am feeling a lot better.
